We stayed here for a girls weekend . The room smelt of raw sewage and the so called double bed in the lounge was a large single so not good to share with anyone and had one pillow the thickness of a biscuit. We asked to be moved as the smell became intolerable . The manager was not apologetic ..., On checking out they charged us 47€ for not returning the key to the first room on time. We had a great time in Benidorm but wouldn't use this hotel again . Cheap should not mean rough!
First of all, the check in is in a hotel next to apartment house. Though we were told about a free wifi, it did not work on the floor we were and to complain one had to go down again. First of all, after a lovely holiday in Andalucia, Benidorm itself was a let down with too many night clubs, bars and God knows what else. Don Jorge apartments were clean with slightly smaller beds than anticipated. The view from the balcony was great. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen was a adequate. We did not stay long enough to rate service (which given everything else would be non existent). Hot water - be careful there is only one tank which is small. Once a person has a bath, it is unlikely the rest will have hot water and have to wait awfully long to heat up again. The three of us has near cold water showers since the first one got to shower with hot water.
stayed here a few weeks ago for a few night had a greatlong weekend. were met our first night with hola have you got a lighter this became a thing for our stay and made it. thanks girls hopefully we'll see you again in september. we were a bit dissapointed we had to go to palm beach for our keys and weren't told before hand. the apartments are ok a bit basic but all tht we needed cant wait to come back
We feel that strongly about our disappointment that we are writing this review 5 days into our weeks holiday here! Upon arriving at the don Jorge it seemed nice enough, clean modern(ish) ...then we saw the amount of groups of men. It wasn't until our first night we started to have problems. We were constantly woken from 1am-5am and I mean every half an hour or so we were in apartment B where a wall is connected to the fire (style) door which is the corridor to apartments B to E on each floor..the door which would swing bang shut and almost shake the wall, the light would be constantly coming on and blinding us on the sofa bed, rowdy people returning to their rooms was bearable but this wasn't. It got so much so one of us got changed to walk to reception (in Palm beach, because there is no reception in don Jorge) at 4:30am in darkness as there were no phones in the room, which to be honest being two girls and a child felt quite scarey on your own surrounded by stag do's and fighting couples. Even on the way out to go to the main hotel we could literally see fag ends being thrown from floors onto the small outdoor pool area. Our complaint sent security to sort it out, and we were told to speak with the manager the next day. In all fairness when we did speak to the manager he seemed aware of the 'door' issues and immediately changed our rooms to a two bedroom apartment,.we would recommend anyone staying here to try get apartment A as no one needs to pass by your room here, therefore no banging our doors. The apartments did seem clean, linen and beds changed daily. Honestly the fact that there is no reception (they state part time reception - which is a security guy there at times on the weekend) is not good enough, doesn't feel secure at all for families as I say with groups of stags:hens here.Palm beach (sister hotel just next door) was nice enough, the week in which we were here there is no kids club (even though we were assured there was), the hotel was literally 80% full of Spanish pensioners, therefore the 'nightly entertainment' was purely to cater for them. It was like Spanish sstrictly come dancing every night, with most the time the Dj not even bothering to translate what he said in any other language. We were all inclusive here, but felt the need to go out into Benidorm every night as our little one couldn't even dance in fear of being trampled on by them..so money spent elsewhere. So all in all...if your a group of people out for a good time, great your a little far away from it all here. But apartments would suit. But we really do advise families to book elsewhere...how jet2 can say these apartments are family friendly is beyond me!! Just feel the need to warn families about this place.
There were 20+ of us staying in these apartments for a long weekend in May. The apartments are at the top of a steep hill and I wouldn't recommend them for anyone with mobility issues. The apartments themselves were clean and comfortable. My sofa bed was fine although they were replacing these with new ones on our last day. Each apartment contains a washing machine, iron, microwave fridge etc. Word of warning ladies, there is only one mirror in the apartment in the bathroom which we all found quite awkward when trying to get ready at the same time. Also no hairdryer provided so pack your own! Pool area was a good size although we preferred the beach. Didn't eat at the hotel personally but friends of mine said the food was nice. Takes about 15 minutes to walk to the main square of bars but pack your flats as pavements are steep and can be very slippy! Would use these apartments again, great value!
Stayed at the Don Jorge Apartments for 3 nights for a friends Stag Do.
The value of the hotel was fantastic. Basic facilities but the apartment had everything you needed and very clean.
Only issue was the smell of the drains at times.
Overall fantastic stay! And one hell of a view from floor 25!
Paid 490pp for a week stay ,must of been ripped off as every other review is saying value for money and this wasn't. The apartment smelt. It looked clean apart from the floor when walking in bear feet it's really dirty (we didn't use any of there kitchen facilities because of this apart from glazed) it's Up a hill away from all of the night life, this might suit some people but as a young couple it was quite a walk out and were not lazy but walking up the hill in that heat after a night out was too much. The pool was a small shabby thing. The hotel next door was nice and decent so we spent are time either around there pool or down at the beach which is lovely. I'd recommend staying somewere eles! I love Benidorm and will be going back just not to the don Jorge !
9 People hired 2 apartments at the Don Jorge, and we were very pleasantly surprised, large clean rooms 2 bathrooms washer, fridge freezer, iron, etc just the place to stay for a small family self catering. we were on the 30th floor views are stunning. a good walk up the hill to get to your apartments from the beech, but they do supply a mini bus regularly. you could also use the sister hotels services which is nice, put aside the stags and hen doo's it would make a great short stay holiday
